clo·sure (klzhr)
n.

  1. The act of closing or the state of being closed: closure of an incision.
  2. Something that closes or shuts.
  3. A bringing to an end; a conclusion: finally brought the project to closure.
  4. See cloture.
  5. The property of being mathematically closed.

It only took 2 years.

TGIF
I didn't go to work today, called in sick. I can't get myself out of bed today, thus my mood is lethargic as you can see in the right panel of this page.  I think my allergies are out of control.  Apparently, I am not alone.  My coworkers are feeling crappy too I heard.  One believes it's related to the fires near Malibu.  The other night, my roomie called me to go upstairs.  From our balcony, the sky was red in the horizon- we could see the fires in Malibu all the way from our house in Hermosa Beach.  Crazy!

Anyhow, I am trying to stay in bed as long as I can today.  Unfortunately, our maid is here today, so it's loud with the vacuum running upstairs.  I asked them to clean my room last since I was trying to sleep.  It's hot in my room right now, can't wait until it gets cooler.  I don't know where I am going with this...

Everyone - have a nice weekend!

Eventful weekends
B is for Blogger
As I mentioned recently, I got a new t-shirt: B is for Blogger (a blog site by Google).  On the left, I'm posing with the Nano at the new Apple store in Manhattan Beach.  I was smiling until the sales person told me that they sold out of the white 4GB Nano the day before- darn!   I heard that fingerprints and spots are easier to see on the black Nano (just like a black car gets dirtier than a white car?).  I guess I have to wait to spend a pretty penny, unless I order it on-line.  We shall see.

I hung out with my bros last weekend.  Two of my bros are twins.  The first twin arrived first on Friday night, so we watched a new movie, Flightplan, which was a lot better than I anticipated.  The second twin drove up on Saturday, so that we can do the Nike Run Hit Wonder.  Our AMC movie ticket stubs from Friday night had 15% discount off 2 DVDs at Best Buy, so of course we went shopping on Sunday.  Since the weather was exceptionally pleasant on Sunday afternoon, we stopped at Coffee Bean in Manhattan Beach and strolled to the pier, all before heading home to watch some DVDs.  Between the three of us, we took a TON of shots that afternoon, but I only posted 1 pic from each of our digital cameras.

I'm going to be graced with the presence of all my brothers this coming weekend.  I don't see my lil bro much since he's still in school, plus he's underage (for 2 more months, then we can party together ).  They are going to Knott's Scary Farm with their friends and I'm tagging along.  The Home Town Fair in MB is happening this weekend too, so I'll have a tough decision between the beer garden and wine garden...  If you couldn't tell, I am counting down to the weekend- 3 down, 2 to go, but the past few days have flown by!  I just hope that I don't get sicker.  I haven't been able to get rid of this annoying cough since I came back from Japan, which was weeks ago...

Currently Listening
Hot Fuss
By The Killers

I love The Killers (the band, that is)
I normally don't go to concerts, but this must be the "Year of Concerts" for me or something.  Anyhow, I have seen this particular band twice now (KROQ Weenie Roast in May and Street Scene in July).  I know I briefly blogged about them in the past, but I've got pictures to share this time.  Supposedly we weren't supposed to bring cameras, but everyone had cameras since the security weren't really inspecting bags, so I asked my friend to bring her camera in.  The Killers set was excellent for photo taking (see below), while the set for Black Eyed Peas (my other fave band) was quite dull- you couldn't tell it was them, not even one sign with their band name.  Check out the lead singer in the pic below- cool effects, huh?  He has a great voice, but he needs to loosen up and learn to dance a bit.

Wave your cell phone instead of lighter?Sliding down the big inflatable slide

Instead of lighters, everyone was waving their cell phones (see pic above).  Welcome to the age of technology.  Since I had never been to Street Scene before (even though I'm from San Diego), someone compared Street Scene to Woodstock.  Maybe.  The best part was the big inflatable slide in the carnival area.  I had never been on one of those things before.  Everyone was racing up the rope to beat their friend, but Rocket Barbie and I took our sweet time (like girls) while everyone made fun of us.  It was sooooooo much fun that we ran around and got back in line for a second turn.  That was a fun way to end the night.  The picture came out very dark, but thanks to Picasa I was able to lighten it up for your viewing pleasure.

I normally don't buy CDs, not because I'm a pirate, but rather I don't know names of songs or artists.  Plus my friend, Rocket Barbie, insisted that I support "small" bands.  Anyhow, I really liked The Killers after the first time I heard them.  I normally don't listen to this kind of music too much, but I was 100% sure after the second time.  Now I recognize them on the radio.  So guess what?  I bought their CD.  Love it!  If you don't know that band, I think it's Alternative Rock.  A friend thought they sounded like the Cure, but I think it sounds a little more upbeat, not so depressing.  One of their songs is called, "Smile like you mean it."  I think that suits me.

PS.  My friends want to see The Killers in concert while we're in Vegas next weekend, but I think 3 times would be overkill.  I bought the CD, so now I can listen to them anytime, anywhere at no additional cost, i.e. TicketMaster fees.

PPS.  The codeine in my cough syrup knocks me out, hard to stay awake to blog, zzz...
